Matt and I have been together for over 8 years now and for the past 8 years, we’ve been sleeping on the same queen mattress. I can’t count how many times I’ve said I wanted a new mattress and if we are going to buy a new one, it better be a king. Well after waiting 8 years, buying a house, and finally finishing our master bedroom renovation, we finally got a king bed (amen).
Since a lot of you asked about where we got our bedroom furniture and decor, today I’m sharing all the deets.
Furniture
We got most of our bedroom furniture, the headboard, bed frame and two nightstands from Jordan’s. Casana Casablanca King Panel Bed. They were having a private sale so we managed to get 15% off everything. Be sure to get on their mailing list if you want in on their next sale. They also offer great financing options like zero financing for 12 months (and sometimes 72 months).
I kinda wanted to mix it up and get different furniture for our nightstands, but we really loved the ones that came with the set.
They have pull outs that you can put your water, phone, etc. right on without ruining the wood or needing coasters: Casana Casablanca Nightstand. We also loved the black hardware on the end tables, adds a nice industrial touch which ties in nicely to some of the other accents in our house.
We didn’t purchase the full furniture set since we have a walk-in-closet and our room is on the smaller side. To mix the furniture up a bit, we got this console table from HomeGoods.
The black hardware ties in nicely with our nightstands. And I love the glass top, so clean and simple. HomeGoods has been my favorite for quality furniture accents that don’t cost a fortune. We paid $179.99 for this table.
I think I still want to add in a chair, mirror or something to this corner–any suggestions let me know below in the comments.
Rug
I get a lot of questions on our rug–it was a great price for the quality. Only $299, it’s so soft and adds some nice color to the room. I got it on esalerugs.com: Brooklyn Rug – Blue 8 x 10
Plants
I love decorating with plants. It adds nice color to any room and brings in great oxygen. This snake plant we got is my favorite plant in the entire house. Snake plants are one of the most recommended plants for improving indoor air quality. They are also hearty and easy to care for, so a great plant for the bedroom.
The planter is from Target: Lawn Decor Set Thrshd. It was a bit pricey but I got it 25% off with one of their sales. I do not recommend having it shipped as it was broken when we got ours.
I found this planter at HomeGoods. It came with the fake plant inside. We decided to keep it that way since we don’t get a lot of sunlight in the corner of the room. I don’t have the link to it but here is one that is similar, except you’d have to add your own plant (click the photo for direct link):
You can always buy your own fake succulents to put in if you aren’t into keeping real plants alive or your space has low light.
Decor
Target has been a favorite for decorating our house, I also love that they carry Joanna Gaines’ Hearth & Hand line. That’s where we got our lanterns from: Lantern Black – Hearth & Hand with Magnolia and the mirror as well.
Also from Target are these floating photo frames. I am a bit obsessed with gold and brass, so I had to get these 8″x10″ Metal Single Image Float Frame Brass – Project 62™. You guys were super helpful in my poll on Instagram on whether I should do a photo ledge or a sign. I decided on a gallery wall because I didn’t want to clutter the space and wanted to showcase some of our photos taken on our favorite trips. It is also an inexpensive way to showcase art.
Curtains
Matt was adamant on getting blackout curtains since we get a lot of sunlight in our bedroom. It was hard to find something that wasn’t hideous, these curtains wouldn’t be my first choice as they are a bit too thick for my liking (since we have smaller windows) but they were the best ones I could find that didn’t cost a fortune but actually work well and look good in our space: Freemansburg Solid Blackout Thermal Rod Pocket Single Curtain Panel, The color is Swiss Coffee – White.
To secure the curtains I bought this hardware on Amazon (click the photos for direct links):
Meriville 1-Inch Diameter Linder Single Window Treatment Curtain Rod, 28-Inch to 48-Inch, Black.
Decopolitan Holdback U Arm Pair for Draperies, Black Espresso
Bedding
Lastly, bedding really adds the finishing touches to any room. It got our duvet, duvet cover and blanket all from Macy’s.
Here are the links:
Hotel Collection Luxury Supima Cotton Down Alternative Comforter
Calvin Klein Modern Cotton Body King Duvet Cover
DKNY PURE Cotton Chunky Knit Throw
The pillows are from HomeGoods (no links, sorry)
It’s amazing how a space like this can really bring happiness. It’s so much brighter and airier then our place in Boston. The white walls bring in lots of natural light. I finally got to decorate something to my taste and it feels so good to go to bed to.
xoxo
